The Great Cooling Cleanse of 2011
I don’t normally go for full-on organized detoxes and cleanses, but this year, I’m a little desperate. It’s August 10th, so you might think - suck it up, summer is almost over - but here in Texas Hill Country, in the middle of a drought and one of the hottest, driest summers EVER, we’re really only half-way through the hot season. It could be October before we get a break,...

Yoga & The Artist's Way, week 9
In week 9, one of the tasks is to re-read the previously forbidden morning pages we’ve been writing every morning so far. At first it’s discouraged because we are so busy judging ourselves at the beginning of the process, the pages are pretty tough to take. After a while, we can look back through that stuff with a lot more compassion, and also see just how far we’ve come in 9...
Slight chance of rain

Mostly because it’s really hard to lift my arms, and my brain can’t think much beyond the next moment. In technical terms, my blood pressure crashed. 4 hours later, it has crawled back up to 104 / 63. Pulse...
Yoga & The Artist's Way week 6
Morning Pages have been a struggle for me for several days now - I’m getting into the resistance phase where it feels like a meaningless chore. After I write about what a meaningless chore it is, and complain for half a page or so, I’ve been able to shift the conversation in my head to something a lot more positive, and carry on, even though I know I am faking-it-til-I-make-it the...

Yoga & The Artist's Way
I started a workshop last week with 5 others, combining yoga and The Artist’s Way. It’s a goal for me this year to spend more time on my websites, and to start blogging on a regular basis. But marketing demands eat up most of my computer time, and blogging about my day, life, thoughts and dreams turns into 140 characters on Twitter.
So this summer, I’ve selfishly created a...
